Don’t put the brake on plans

1. Don’t put the brake on plans

Your adventures don’t need to stop just because it might be tricky to spot the parking brake. We got you covered with quick videos on our Instagram Parking Brakes Highlight for an easy guide on where the parking brake is located in each of our cars. Hint: they’re all located in the center console except in our Prius Model 1 where the foot brake is found to the left of the brake pedal.

2. End your trip like a pro

We’re sad to see you go but we love when you end your trip properly! Follow our easy check list below to make sure you’re good to go:

  • Ensure all the windows and doors are closed and the engine is turned off.
  • If your Evo has a key card, make sure it’s fully inserted into the slot found inside of the glovebox.
  • End your trip when you’re outside of the Evo and check that the green light appears on the windshield reader.
  • Leave Evo in the same Home Zone you started trip in. This means if you started your trip in Victoria, you’ll need to return the Evo and end your trip in that same Home Zone.

3. The key to stopovers

You may have noticed that some Evos have keys, and some don’t. If you come across a car without keys, don’t panic! Just use the Evo App and hit “stopover” and “resume” to lock and unlock the car when making a few stops. If the car does have a key, you can still use the Evo App to make a stopover or use the key to lock and unlock the car. Pro tip: enable Bluetooth for the Evo App to ensure connectivity so you can hit the road again in no time.

4. Parking perfection

Let’s be real, parking can be a struggle…but with Evo finding free parking is easy! Unsure of where you can park for free and where you can’t? No problem – take a look at the parking details of our Metro Vancouver or Victoria Home Zones from the parking tab in the Evo app menu. Be sure to avoid private lots so the next Member can grab your Evo. Reminder to also take a peek at the restricted signs to prevent being on the hook for a ticket or tow.

5. Road trip ready

Rev up the savings by splitting the cost of your ride with BFFs. Next time you’re in the driver’s seat for an outdoor adventure or road trip, get the team to chip in so that together, everyone can save more. The only question left is who’s in charge of the playlist?

If you’re hitting the road for a longer trip, we’ve got some pointers to help you focus more on the adventure and less on the ride. Keep it safe – don’t drive on service roads or go off-roading, stick to paved roads when in an Evo. Plus, check if you’re in need of a refuel (or snacks!) and map out your pit stops. The best part? Gas is on us so grab your receipt and take a snap then send it to us at info@evo.ca. Life hack: choose to take it as drive time and get 15% more!
