What’s an e-bike?
E-Bikes are electric pedal assisted bikes that operate using a battery. You ride an Evolve like you would a pedal bike, with the benefit of an electric assist motor that provides power to your own pedaling (which makes getting up hills a breeze). But don’t worry, e-bikes do not propel on their own. Evolve also has three gears to tackle tough hills, a bell to communicate to other riders, automatic front and rear LED lights, and a front basket to hold up to 10kg of gear.
-
How do I find an e-bike?
Find an e-bike in the app or walk up to one on the street. If an e-bike isn’t showing up on your app, it may have a low battery and is unavailable, so you’ll need find another e-bike. Evolves have a plate number on the frame which is also listed in the app.

How do I start a trip?
Starting your trip is easy, hit the “unlock” button and scan the QR code. Follow the prompt for your pre-trip checklist, and then remove the pin from the wheel, and place in the holder above the wheel. Adjust your seat height and your helmet and you’re ready to roll.
-
How do I stopover with Evolve?
Stopping over with Evolve is easy. Simply pause your ride in app, lock your bike using the red cable lock and Evolve will be waiting for you when you get back. Unpause your trip to unlock the pin and resume your ride. Just remember, stopover time counts as part of your trip.
-
How do I end my trip?
Make sure you’re in an approved parking location. Then, engage the kickstand and thread your helmet through the pin and red cable and guide the lock pin through the wheel spokes and into the lock. Hit the “End Trip” button in app, do your post-ride checklist (this includes a parking photo) and you’re done!
-
Why can’t I end my trip?
There could be a couple reasons you are having trouble ending your trip.
First, check to see if the spoke of the back wheel may be blocking the pin holder on the wheel by moving Evolve forward or backward slightly, and then re-try locking your e-bike. Push the pin in as far as it will go to make sure it’s fully engaged.
If you’re still having issues, you might be outside an approved parking spot or Home Zone. Check the app for approved parking areas and try again. If you still need help, contact us.

Where can I park?
While in a trip or on a stop-over, you can park Evolve anywhere you would park a personal bike, such as a public bike rack. Use the red cable to secure Evolve while unattended.
When ending your ride, Evolve must be parked at approved spots, which can be found in app with Parking (P) icons. Each parking location will have a rack, locker or other facilities to allow you to securely and safely lock Evolve and end your trip. Your organization might have specific rules on how to park – double check your organizations rules about where to park .

You won’t be able to end your trip unless you’re back in the Home Zone and in an approved spot. Check out how to end your trip to ensure you are parking and locking your bike confidently.
